Why You Should Book Me
I am the wedding photographer for people who hate getting their pictures taken. I will help you to relax and give you confidence in front of the camera to achive those natural wedding pictures you have always dreamed of. How ?
Well wedding photography isn’t just about the big day itself. There is a lot of planning and discussion beforehand to make sure I know exactly what you want. It all starts with a drink…..
- Coffee & a chat
- Planning at the venue
- THE BIG DAY!
- Edit, edit, edit
- Enjoy your photographs!
1. Getting to know you, getting to know all about you
One of the most important parts of wedding photography! Its all about rapport. If I turned up on the day with no idea about you as a person, or what you liked, then you probably wouldn’t have the best photographs that reflected you as a couple.
Instead, I would really like to meet you, have a coffee (or two) and we get to know each other a little. I ask questions about you, your family, your wedding day, what style of photographs you like and (invaluably) what you don’t like. Let me know if there are any particular shots you want (I like to make a list of family members or friends so we don’t forget anyone when you are busy enjoying your day!)
Planning is very important. That’s how we get the best photographs on the day.
2. Getting to know the venue – every nook and cranny
Once we’ve had a chat, I like to meet you again for more coffee (there may be a recurring theme here), but this time, it’s all about the venue. As a photographer who specialises in Loch Lomond and Glasgow weddings. Take Cameron House as an example, I know the best angles of the house, the hidden gems in the grounds, and, when the Scottish weather lives up to its reputation, I know all the best spots inside the house as well.
Together, we look at all the features of the rooms that you like. Maybe the whole reason you booked your venue was for that chandelier (which you have already imagined will look stunning above you in your wedding dress) These are great little things for me to know before the day which will help make your shots breath-taking.
3. The Big Day!!
It’s arrived! After months of planning (not stressing), it is finally the big day! I will arrive in plenty of time, cameras in tow and usually with an assistant and start capturing the magic. Some of the most beautiful shots are at this stage, so it’s not a moment to miss.
Next, we will head over to the ceremony and the groom and his attendants, to perhaps capture some of their pre-wedding nerves – we’ll put them at ease and assure them everything is going smoothly with the bride-to-be.
And from there, the day truly begins!
I capture every special moment of the day. From the ceremony, through to the location for your photographs, the meals, the speeches (always great facial expressions and laughter on peoples faces at this point), and the first dance!
4. Edit, edit, edit
The work doesn’t stop there, in fact after the wedding day; it’s time for me to really shine. I get myself a cup of coffee or three and start the edit on your photographs. Every photograph that I take is carefully retouched, with colours corrected and enhanced, images cropped and a light bit of cosmetic retouching just to smooth over any imperfections. This is how I get the images looking their best – and in turn, show you looking your absolute best on your special day.
5. To you, then back to me
Now it’s your turn to put the kettle on (or take champagne out of the fridge), make yourself and your ‘brand new spouse’ a brew, and see your wedding photographs for the very first time. Up till now, you will have seen some blurry mobile phone pictures and Uncle Jacks best efforts – now it’s the main event.
It’s such a special moment for the two of you to enjoy together as you relive all the best moments of your day.
I will start you off with a proposed album layout but if you let me know your favourites, I will then form them into a gorgeous album. After a little back and forth, where you will have final approval on the layout, I will have the album printed by our professional Scottish bases lab (carbon footprint and all that)
6. … And back to you, enjoy!
After a few weeks later you will take delivery of your album, maybe a few frames and a host of images you will be proud to show off and go back to, year after year. If you havent already check out our testimonials have a wee peek. Some are left the day after the wedding – some a few years later.
