Boclair House Wedding
Lynn and Stuart chose me as their Boclair House Wedding Photographer after we had met at the SEC Wedding Show. After the wedding we took the opportunity to ask Lynn about the day and find out who her suppliers were and if she found the wedding show a good way to source the right people for her wedding.
I started by asking Lynn how helpful the wedding show actually was?
We only went to the SEC Wedding show, and it was good but fairly overwhelming. Stalls weren’t laid out as I imagined they would be with similar suppliers together – which I guess makes sense as you don’t want to be next to your competition but meant to look at cakes I had to look all over the show floor. We did get our wedding cake topper and of course our fabulous photographer, but I’d done my research on them before hand and had a short list of people I wanted to talk to which helped.
Who was your wedding dress by and where did you get it?
My dress was the “Tilly” by Bellami, with a couple of tweaks to personalise it. (Sleeves and belt added.) I got it from Wed2B at Charing Cross.
Who was your florist ?
Little Petals in East Kilbride.
Who was your hair / makeup artist?
Danielle Dickson (make up) and Sarah Jane Scanlan (hair), both from Bobby Pins Salon in Bishopbriggs.
Who was your band?
DJ supplied by Boclair – the hotel group has a selection of DJs on rotation.
And finally the grooms outfitter?
What was the best bit about your day?
Stuart says seeing me walk down the aisle, how sweet! I was a bit disappointed he didn’t cry, but he was making a conscious effort not to apparently so I’ll forgive him 🙂 I loved the whole day, its so hard to pick a best bit. If forced to, it was probably walking down the aisle with my very proud Dad. From then on I could just relax, let go and enjoy everything, and the day disappeared so quickly from that point on! And obviously seeing Stuart waiting for me at the other end of the aisle was definitely a special moment.
What were you most looking forward to about the day?
Seeing everyone we love in the same room, celebrating with us. While looking the most glamorous we’d ever looked in our lives!
And what (if anything) were you dreading?
Stuart was nervous about his speech – and the best mans speech too! I wasn’t worried about anything, for a known control enthusiast I was very relaxed about it all 🙂
How did you feel about your getting your picture taken?
Neither of us like getting our picture taken, but on the day we were so happy and chilled out that we didn’t mind, even for the posed ones.
And what is your verdict on the pictures?
We put our trust in Stuart and it paid off big time – the pictures are stunning and we couldn’t be happier with them. Trying to narrow down our selection for the album will be one tough job. I can’t stop looking at them!
Any advice for future brides to be? What do you know now you wish you knew before the wedding?
Don’t worry about the small stuff before hand, you genuinely won’t care on the day! Decide what is important to you and focus on getting that organised, and you’ll love every minute of your big day.
