About Stuart

“I bought my first camera when I was 12 years old, (check out this little beauty, camera nerds – it weighed a tonne). A couple of years later, I got my big break when the local newspaper published my picture of Princess Anne (half page on the front cover no-less!) when she was visiting the area.”

“This kind of inspired me and I took a job working for a highly respected local wedding photographer – the closest thing to a photography apprenticeship that you could get at the time. It was here that I learned the traditional ways of photography; shooting on rolls of film, wet processing, printing – and carrying the camera case for the boss. After 3 years of training, at the age of 21, I was given my first wedding to shoot.” (True fact : in the days of film I used to shoot an entire wedding in 60 exposures. These days I will likely take 60 shots before you even have your dress on !)

“Since then, I have never stopped learning, continually putting myself through training courses, personal projects, and I continue to push myself to be the best photographer I can be.”

“I started 1500 Photography in 2007 and within just 3 years, I was honoured to win MPA “Scottish Wedding Photographer of the Year
