Lauren and Stephens Pollok House Wedding :
Wow. What a stunning bride! Although to be fair we had a little practice before we shot this Pollok House Wedding. You see a few years ago Lauren was bridesmaid to her sister Susan, whose wedding we shot down at Lochside House (a wedding we loved so much it was our sample album for a while) see here
So although it was nice to be amongst friends and familiar faces it also brought it own pressure : no repeat shots ! Tricky as we started off at Laurens parents house (again) and went to the same church (again) – avoiding the too much similarity was a challenge. Fortunately however we had the Busby Hotel and (even better) wonderful Pollok House to use for the pictures. I have to say I absolutely adore working at Pollok House and the gardens – it truly is a gem in the city centre.
Talking of which – how amazing does the bride look. I was absolutely thrilled when Lauren asked me to shoot her wedding. I had got on with her and Stephen so well previously although I must admit that my charms fell flat on their daughter Sophia. She was not amused by the man with the camera, although the ‘selfie’ trick did work for about 5 minutes. We were also working alongside our good friend John Paul from Leven films. Everytime we work together I feel that we really push each other creatively, a process which would really win for me later in the year.
Once back to the Busy Hotel it was first dance, speeches then dancing interspersed with one or two group shots out on the balcony under the moonlight. It was a fabulous day and I cannot tell you how much enjoyed the company of a couple and their family who now feel like firm friends. Wonderful !
