Early in the year we had another wedding at Sherbrooke Castle, however this wedding could not have been more different from Gillian and Martins just a few months earlier. This was a Spring wedding, and aside for a quick detour to Bellahouston Park with the couple, the bulk of the day was spent at the Castle itself. Sherbrooke had also undergone another little change in the decor making the whole venue seem a little different too.
I must say I am a huge fan of Lynne and Micheal, a striking couple who I first met when I shot Lynne’s sisters wedding, Samantha back in 2012. Sadly Samantha couldn’t make it to the wedding as she had (literally) just given birth to her and Euans first child. So the sense of celebration was palpable on the day. Doesnt Lynne look absolutely wonderful? Tall, elegant and athletic she was a photographers dream to shoot. Her dress sat beautifully on her and, to give him some credit, Micheal look particularly handsome in his kilt.
The Humanist ceremony was just the perfect mix of solemnity and humour and after a full group shot of all the guests we quickly whipped the couple away to the Walled Gardens in Bellahouston for a swift shoot before returning to Sherbrooke for our formal group pictures.
The part of this day that I really want to tell you about is the speeches which were absolutely fantastic, especially bestman Andrew’s. He had devised a set of increasingly embarrassing Mr & Mrs style questions where the couple had to stand back to back and give their answers by raising a groom doll or a bride doll. It was ingenious and hysterical.
