Wedding at Oran Mor – Joanne & James

We only had two weeks notice with Joanne and James’s wedding. Sadly they had been let down by their photographer, but happily we were available to step in.

It was great news for us as we had three great venues to work with – Jonannes folks house, Park Circus and Oran Mor.

We got some stunning picture from the couple despite the awful cold conditons and the incoming darkeness. Joanne and James were an absolute delight to work with and I am very pleased with the shots (the last of the set above is actually shot by candle-light in Oran Mor).

Oran Mor Wedding – Rhona and Ally (no3)

And so the the 3rd Ally of the week, this time Alastair marrying the lovely Rhona at Greenbank Church in Glasgow.

Once again we started off at the brides home before we moved onto the church. As you can see from below Rhona’s parents garden in Dunlop was spectacular, in fact the temptation to insist we returned to there to shoot the entire wedding was almost overwhelming.

After the ceremony we used a little area next to the manse before heading to the city and to Oran Mor. With its stunning ceiling and some very nice nooks and cranny’s  we always get some great shots there. Before the wedding both Rhona and Ally seemed a little reticent about having their pictures taken – however, I need not have worried. On the day itself Rhona and Ally were really into it and gave me some brilliant shots. We also had the added fun of a close up magician (Kevin McMahon) bamboozling the guests while the waited for dinner. You can see Kevin in action below…….

So there you are. Alasdair week at 1500 Photography – great week, top couples and some brilliant pictures – thank you all 1500 Photography

The Bothy, Wedding – Ian & Eilidh

Another new venue for 1500 to visit. In fact we are delighted to be the first photographers at a wedding staged at The Bothy in Glasgow’s West End. Ian and Eilidh are friends of Dan and Natalie (who feature in the banner picture on the blog, above) but the two weddings could not have been more different. As oppose to the wide open landscapes we had in Luss, Iain and Eilidh had the ‘urban chic’ look to their city wedding.

The feel and style of this wedding was really enjoyable and inspiring with everything from Eilidhs beautiful dress, the intimate ceremony and the stylish interior of The Bothy, all lending themselves to some terrific shots. Even the peeling and ‘rustic’ garage doors in the lane looked amazing. A great day with the cherry on the cake being a picture with all 60 guests crammed into the lane for a group shot. As the last image was taken, the rain came on and the stampede to get back inside started ……….

A really nice couple who were calm, relaxed and really great to work with on the day. I wish all weddings were this easy – thanks Eilidh and Ian
