Boturich Castle Wedding – Clare and Ian

There is a saying in Loch Lomond – if you cant see the Ben (Lomond) its raining, if you can see the Ben….. its about to rain.

This pretty much sums up our day with Clare and Ian. Clare got ready at one of the lodges at Cameron House before making her way to Luss Church. As usual the service passed off like clockwork at Luss but as we came out of the church, the heavens opened !

So brollies and Plan B where put into action. We still got some beautiful ‘moody’ shots by the lochside before we made our way up to Boturich Castle for the reception. Once there, the rain receded, the clouds parted and we were treated to that special view of Loch Lomond you only get from Boturich.

It was a fitting way for the day to run. Ian and Clare stay in Australia so meeting up beforehand was a mad dash, as was the wedding day. I think these guys only got a chance to relax when the wheels left the tarmac and the left the UK for their honeymoon.

Cameron House Wedding – Christina & John

Our next wedding at Cameron House was for Christina and John, who came all the way from Longbeach California to be married by the shores of Loch Lomond. This was a trip back ‘home’ for John who has family here and originally hails from Bishopbriggs. So John already knew about the vagaries of the Scottish weather, Christina’s family however…… my goodness did it ‘chuck it down’ for them.

With the ‘big party’ planned for back in the States the ceremony itself was lovely and intimate but with the Rev Ian Miller officiating and special guests appearing via web cam it certainly wasn’t dull !!

As is typical the day before the wedding was lovely and the day after the wedding was lovely, but the day of the wedding……. you could barely see the other side of the Loch!! John and Christina just took it in their stride though and fortunately Cameron House looks great indoors so with most of the photography taking place inside we all at least stayed dry and got terrific shots.

Such a nice day and such a nice couple. Cheers Christina and John !

Cameron House Wedding (Celtic Warrior) – Sarah & Martin

What a lovely intimate wedding !

Sarah and Martin had come down from Aberdeen to get married on Loch Lomond at Cameron House. They then provided the couple with the Celtic Warrior luxury cruiser for a lovely jaunt across the Loch after the ceremony. As it was a bridal party of 9 it meant that I could get some pictures with the couple on the boat too.

After a tour around the Loch on the boat it was back to Cameron Houses Boat House for a relaxing drink before dinner. Sarah and Martin had come all the way down from Aberdeen such is the pull of Loch Lomond. I am very grateful that they chose me to shoot their wedding.

Cameron House Wedding – Jane and John

I know you must get fed up with me telling you how amazing my couples are. How they are such great company and how I come to think of them more as friends than as clients. Well I am sorry to say John and Jane are no exception.

An absolute top drawer couple whose infectious enthusiasm and friendly easy going nature made them the perfect couple for a photographer to shoot. As always any Cameron House wedding will look stunning but with a snow capped Ben Lomond in the background this one was extra special.

Jane got ready in one of the exclusive lodges at the Carrick golf club before making her way down to Cameron House. Once there John and Jane exchanged their vows in the library at Cameron House looking out over Loch Lomond and the snow capped Ben.

Despite the plummeting temperatures Jane braved the conditions long enough for us to get some truly beautiful shots, then back inside to complete our formal groups, speeches and first waltz. It was a fantastic honor to be recognised in the ‘thank you’s during the speeches….and what an unexpected yet fitting tribute. I was presented with a gift from the bride – a big box of biscuits (shortbread)!! What more could you ask for? A dream wedding from start to finish with a dream couple…..and shortbread. Fantastic !

The Duck Bay Hotel, Loch Lomond – Neil and Jade

Neil and Jade got married at the Duck Bay Hotel right on the banks of Loch Lomond.

I have to say that when we arrived at Jades house beforehand she was the calmest bride-to-be I have ever came across on the day of her wedding. Its not often a girl in full make-up, wedding dress and perfect hair asks if your sure you dont want a cup of tea !! Best friend and ‘Man of honour’  Ross was also on hand to help soak up and nerves. Things were slightly more tense at the Duck Bay with the lads (but isnt that always the way?) However the legendary Mrs Thomson was on hand at Duck Bay to make sure everything was running as smooth as possible (usual)

Because Duck Bay is situated so near the water there can be the unfortunate side effectf o the surround grounds retaining any rainfall for a while. This meant finding a different areas to shoot our groups and couples shots at.  The unlikely ‘haunted house’ just along the road from the hotel proved to be an idea backdrop for some of the shots with the overspill carpark (shot 2 above) working really well for us as too. There is a maxim in photography – its not what you look at, its how you ‘see’ it. Obviously it also helps to have Loch Lomond right next to you………..

Cameron House Wedding Photography – Michelle and John

Another cracking wedding at Cameron house with another top couple.

Michelle had planned out a fantastic day :  she arrived at Cameron House by boat, got married to John on the lawn outside before an intimate dinner with drinks and a jazz trio entertaining.

Despite a little hiccup with the weather holding things up for 10 minutes the day was fantastic.

I cant stress how much fun John and Michelle were. I really enjoy these more smaller weddings at Cameron House which always seem much more relaxed and casual without any compromise in quality or attention.  Michelle looked amazing in her dress and John was very much the dashing groom.  A great day with a smashing couple. 1500 Photography

Wedding at Cameron House, Andrew & Christine

We had a fantastic day shooting Andrew and Christines wedding at Cameron House.

We started the day at Christines parents house before making our way to the New Kilpatrick Parish church in Bearsden.  Andrew and Christine had come ‘home’ from Autralia for their wedding and had made all their arrangements via late night phone calls and email.  With Christines mum helping the organisation though, everything went as smoothly as possible.

As usual Cameron House provided a stunning backdrop and great service on the day.

A really lovely couple, who were an absolute delight to photograph. A perfect wedding.
