Knockderry House Wedding – Kirsty & Adam

WHERE WAS IT & WHY ? : Knockderry Country House Hotel
After 10 years together, we decided that we would finally ‘tie the knot’. As soon as we visited Knockderry on a blistering hot April day, we fell in love with it. Sitting on the banks of Loch Long with beautiful views, the hotel absolutely oozes character.  We knew whatever the weather we would have a perfect day.

THEME OR STYLE: It had to be purple! We really wanted a relaxed day where everyone enjoyed themselves.

BRIDE’S DRESS : Athena by Sophia Tolli. A simple Grecian inspired dress with a little bit of sparkle- perfect!!

JEWELLERY/ACCESSORIES: A Monet diamanté bracelet and a diamanté hair comb.

HAIR & MAKEUP: Hair was a difficult decision for me as we don’t live in the area. I was really pleased with my choice. My bridesmaid and I, as well as four other close family members all had our hair done at the same time. The staff in the salon were so friendly and professional. They listened carefully to our requests and made it a relaxing, calming experience. My driving on the way to and from the salon,  however, was not!!

THE FLOWERS: Beautiful Hand tied bouquet consisting of Supernova Thistles, Purple Agapanthus, Purple Lysyanthius, Erigium Thistles and Greenery. The table flowers were fish bowls with hand tied arrangements in the bridal theme coming out of the bowl with submersible lights.

THE CAKE: Cup cakes with a top tier of cake. I chose cream coloured frosting topped with 3 shades of purple frangipani flowers and edible glitter. The top tier had  flowers cascading down onto the tier below.
The children had their own cup cakes. The boys had bright blue cookie monster cupcakes and the girls,  pink sparkly butterfly cakes.

A MEMORABLE MOMENT: It is difficult to pin point one moment. We had such a happy, celebratory day. We were so happy as were all our guests. It was a day full of smiles and laughter.

FAVOURITE PICTURE?: Now that is a question! We love so many of them!! They really did capture the day, the scenery and the characters! We love the photos that tell the story of the ceremony, of us down on the beach, at the entrance of the hotel, the family photos where we were laughing hysterically and of course the sequence of shots that catch our son’s cheeky character. We were so happy with all the photos!

We are delighted to hear that Kirsty a beautiful blustery day on the banks of Loch Long with a lovely family. Thank you.

Carole & Campbell – Knockderry House Wedding

Back over to a Knockderry House Wedding on the shores of Loch Long and the Clyde.

A lovely intimate day with Carol, Campbell and their children. It was so nice that all the kids had major roles on the day – from the best man, ushers and bridesmaids to readings at the ceremony and with Knockderry providing that exclusive feel to the day, this really was a ‘family affair’. It also meant a day of great fun and intense emotion.

This was also the first time we had been in the newly refurbished bridal suit at Knockderry and what a great job they have done – commanding views, tastefully decorated and very much in keeping with the style of the house. Hats off to Karlyn Evans at re-decorate on a tremendous job well done. After the ceremony we nipped across the road and down the beach for some lovely dramatic scenery looking out over the Loch. Terrific day!!

Knockderry House Wedding – Aaron & Katy

Another new venue for 1500 Photography as we shot our first wedding at Knockderry House Hotel in Argyll, a  stunning venue on the shores of Loch Long. What a great day we had too and our first of many outdoor weddings we will be shooting this year.

The couple had travelled up to Scotland (where Katherine’s family are from) for their big day.  Katy looked absolutely gorgeous and despite his initial reservations, and the perennial ’How do you do the laces?’ problem, Englishman Aaron looked excellent in highland dress.

As you can see it was a glorious day within a beautiful setting. After the outdoor ceremony we took a short tour of the grounds and across to the beach before back into Knockderry and dinner for the guests.  We got some terrific shots, Aaron and Katy were a lovely couple and their enthusiasm and sense of fun made for a great day.  I was also really impressed with the venue and attentive staff and hope to be back at Knockderry soon. 1500 Photography
