Craig popped the question only 3 weeks before the wedding at the end of November and since then the couple managed to organise everything to make a perfect day on the shores of Loch Lomond. After a lovely civil ceremony we took the couple out to the front door of the hotel for a few ‘trademark’ 1500 shots (that’s all the weather would allow!!) before once again making the very most of the Cameron House interior.

This was a lovely way to sign off 2011, with probably one of the most memorable shots of the year.

Zoe resplendent on the boardroom table !! I have to say that this was just a passing thought from me which was very quickly taken up by Craig and Zoe, next thing you know we have set up a cracking shot which both the couple and myself absolutely delighted with finished shot.

We also had time to shoot a festive version of our big award winning shot featured on the front page of our website. Its a festive twist on Darren and Victoria’s shot also taken at Cameron House. A brilliant finish to a fantastic year for 1500 Photography. I would love to say that we then put our feet up and relaxed but as you will see , 2012 was up and running very soon indeed………

We had previously worked together at Elspeth and Toms wedding at Cameron House a couple of years ago (Kim was one of the bridesmaids and Dave a dutiful guest). We started Davids day with my first foray into sports photography……. Rather ‘adventurously’ David has organised a full scale 11 a side football match for all the male guests coming to the wedding. I don’t mind telling you I winced at every 50/50 tackle although it should be noted that everyone came through the match unscathed.

Then it was onto Cameron House where Kim and the girls were putting together their finishing touches.

Unfortunately the rain on the day did not let up once. So heavy was the rain that you couldnt see Loch Lomond from the Youth Hostel. However we were lucky that both the interior of Cameron House and The Youth Hostel lend themselves rather nicely to photography, so we were not short of oppertunities for great shots.

Kim and Dave also had some of the best table decorations I have ever seen – homemade album covers. They looked absolutely fantastic. A wedding in a Youth Hostel is a brilliantly novel idea. The thought of the guests all sleeping in bunk beds and making their own breakfast in the morning certainly gets the imagination going….

Then, after the wedding, we set our own new record. Within the space of 7 days the album was made up, checked, changed twice, and printed ready for the couple to take away. This is not usual service but a special case as Kim and David live down south and are emigrating early in 2012.

A fantastic couple who take with them to Uganda our love and very best wishes.

Loch Lomond Youth Hostel Wedding by 1500 Photography

Again we were a wee bit unlucky with the weather at Loch Lomond on the day but thanks to Fiona’s enthusiasm to get great pictures we were out and about and under a brolly!!

Guest of honour on the day was Fiona and Fraser son Ben who was absolutely brilliantly behaved on the day. This was another intimate wedding day with only a select number of friends and family in attendance. With the wedding taking place in the morning room and the drinks reception in the library I really think Cameron House is the perfect location for this kind of wedding.

Once again showing that whatever the weather Loch Lomond is the place to get married !

With the ‘big party’ planned for back in the States the ceremony itself was lovely and intimate but with the Rev Ian Miller officiating and special guests appearing via web cam it certainly wasn’t dull !!

As is typical the day before the wedding was lovely and the day after the wedding was lovely, but the day of the wedding……. you could barely see the other side of the Loch!! John and Christina just took it in their stride though and fortunately Cameron House looks great indoors so with most of the photography taking place inside we all at least stayed dry and got terrific shots.

Cameron House Wedding Photography by 1500 Photography

This is a great showcase for all the suppliers on the day, Cameron House and of course for me and my work.

Having lived with the pictures for a long time now its a real treat to see them in a different light. The RLW mag has used predominately colour images where I have been using mostly the black and white images from the day. I am really please with the way the magazine has put this feature together. However it offers so much more info, ideas and inspiration than just my pictures. Well worth a look for all brides to be.

Sarah and Martin had come down from Aberdeen to get married on Loch Lomond at Cameron House. They then provided the couple with the Celtic Warrior luxury cruiser for a lovely jaunt across the Loch after the ceremony. As it was a bridal party of 9 it meant that I could get some pictures with the couple on the boat too.

After a tour around the Loch on the boat it was back to Cameron Houses Boat House for a relaxing drink before dinner. Sarah and Martin had come all the way down from Aberdeen such is the pull of Loch Lomond. I am very grateful that they chose me to shoot their wedding.

All these and more just about sum up how I felt about picking up the title of ‘Scottish Wedding Photographer of the Year‘ at this years MPA event at Dunblane Hydro. We picked up some of the best possible awards for our business. First we won ‘Classic Wedding Photographer of the Year‘ with this shot of Victoria & Darren

We then picked up a couple of merit awards for our shots from Amanda & James’ wedding and Stephanie & Grahams

We then won the award that we really wanted -

“Best Complete Wedding” with Victoria & Darren’s wedding

With the above body of work we were then crowned

“Scottish Wedding Photographer of the Year”

I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am to have finally got my hands on this trophy. I owe a huge debt of thanks to Victoria and Darren who chose me to shoot their wedding, the wedding staff at Cameron House who are always very professional and understand the importance of photography on the wedding day and most of all…..Ms Price.

My other half who has supported me, assisted me and encouraged me from day one of 1500 Photography. I could not have got this award without her – thank you Gillian x

A bracing but lovely start to the year with a very generous couple who were so patient despite the icy conditions.

Starting off  with Julie in one of the Lodges we then headed down to the ceremony in the morning room before drinks and a mingle in the library. Amazingly despite all the grief over the festive period with snow and ice it was all gone on the 3rd and been replaced with rain!! Fortunately Cameron House is a wonderful backdrop for the shots no matter what the weather.

After dinner – fireworks!! A really fun couple who were a joy to shoot, especially with Julies wicked sense of humour – a great day.

Cameron House Wedding Photography

An absolute top drawer couple whose infectious enthusiasm and friendly easy going nature made them the perfect couple for a photographer to shoot. As always any Cameron House wedding will look stunning but with a snow capped Ben Lomond in the background this one was extra special.

Jane got ready in one of the exclusive lodges at the Carrick golf club before making her way down to Cameron House. Once there John and Jane exchanged their vows in the library at Cameron House looking out over Loch Lomond and the snow capped Ben.

Despite the plummeting temperatures Jane braved the conditions long enough for us to get some truly beautiful shots, then back inside to complete our formal groups, speeches and first waltz. It was a fantastic honor to be recognised in the ‘thank you’s during the speeches….and what an unexpected yet fitting tribute. I was presented with a gift from the bride – a big box of biscuits (shortbread)!! What more could you ask for? A dream wedding from start to finish with a dream couple…..and shortbread. Fantastic !

It’s been a while since we spoke, so just wanted to send you a quick email to thank you for the fantastic photos taken at our wedding. Massively impressed with the quality of them and some of them in particular (the window reflection/some on the pier/speeches/inside cam house) are exceptional.  We’ll be recommending you to all our friends and family as the experience was made a whole lot better having you and Gillian there as part of the day. We absolutely love them and have spent all weekend showing our friends and family who also think they are fab! We can’t get enough of the photos and the DVD was a nice surprise, we’ve watched it several times and the music selected really matches our taste. We’d like to thank you very much for your hard work as the photos have far exceeded our expectations, they are truly wonderful and once we finalise our album know that it will be something we treasure for the rest of our lives.
